Today Murano is the most famous center of glass production in Europe. Since the 12th century Murano has already existed in glass making and glass art. The glass production and forming knowledge was secret. The well-paid glassblowers were forbidden to pass on their knowledge on pain of death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This secret is not so closely guarded today. You can visit the small studios and glass production company in Murano and see how they work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This also allows you to learn the techniques. Now exists many small studios in Europe and use the same technique as in masters in Murano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Working with the flame requires some skill, but it takes a lot of practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The flame we’re working on six around 1000-1300 degrees. We melt colored glass rods from Murano and shape them with tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The finished glass items must cool down very slow,. We put it in a 500 degree Celsius oven and let it cool down at room temperature for approx. 5-6 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
